SG2 PUNCTURE PROTECTION: These tires are available with our all-new SG2 Puncture Protection, which is a lightweight nylon insert that provides bead-to-bead coverage and ensures every area of the tire is defended against slashes and punctures. As events become progressively rougher and cyclists pedal farther, gravel gets tougher. It only makes sense for gravel tires to become tougher as well. - Nylon fibers have a flat profile, which reduces the amount of rubber needed to fill the gaps between fibers and minimizes weight. - Protected SG2 gravel tires feature a 120tpi casing, which improves suppleness compared to a traditional 60tpi tire. - SG2 was specifically designed to be a puncture protection layer, but it also improves air retention and eliminates seeping at the sidewall. Light as a Feather The true 2.4” tire measures 62mm ( on an i30 rim) and weighs a scant 732g (120tpi black with SG protection). TCS Tubeless Ready TCS (Tubeless Compatible System) is WTB's standardized tubeless system. These tires feature a TCS tubeless ready casing, which nearly eliminates flats and allows lower tire pressures to improve traction and comfort over a traditional tube-type tire. TriTec Compound TriTec blends three distinct rubber compounds to provide different levels of traction, support and durability based on their placement within the tread. High durometer rubber provides a foundation for the entire tread pattern and even extends slightly into the base of each knob to provide additional support below the softer compounds used in the remainder of each knob. Center knobs feature a medium durometer compound to provide traction and durability without sacrificing rolling efficiency, while outer knobs feature the softest compound for maximum grip and slow rebound characteristics. TCS Light Casing TCS Light tires feature one layer of casing to minimize rotational weight while simultaneously increasing the overall liveliness of a tire. Using a single layer of casing results in a gram-conscious tire that better conforms to the trail and increases traction without the need for excessive knob heights that would reduce efficiency. Many of our TCS Light mountain tires feature Slash Guard technology, which provides a protective nylon insert spanning the entire sidewall to provide extra puncture protection without the weight of a dual ply casing. SG Puncture Protection WTB’s SG tires start at the material level, specifically formulated for superior sidewall protection and increased air retention in high-pressure tires. Sidewall Protection: The extra layer defends most exposed areas of the tire and improves air retention for high-pressure tires. ZERO Plastic Packaging All new WTB tires are packaged using 100% recycled materials and zero plastic. Our engineers and marketing team are constantly working towards reducing the amount of packaging our products requiring, while still providing you with the necessary information to make an informed purchasing decision. It's no small task, but minimizing the total amount of packaging has become an integral part of product development. This results in simplistic packaging using more recycled materials and less zip ties. In the next few years, we're working to ensure 100% of WTB packaging goes in the recycling bins.
