• Quickly disassembles and is compact for transport and storage
• Forged aluminum hitch

Great for bike packing on rail trails!

By Qynius

from Southern Ohio

About Me

The nomad offers an abundance of space for the biker looking to do some back country camping. Its size easily accommodates a five gallon bucket to keep belongings and/or food dry while acting as a sealed container to hang food at night. The accessory rack is great for tying down objects or drying wet clothing while riding. I took this on a week long trip from Washington D.C. to Pittsburg. Cons: The rear corners of the frame aren't smooth and wear holes in the floor. There needs some extra padding on the inside. (I'm going to try bicycle inner tubes). The front of the the floor gets a bit pinched by the mounts that hold the tow bar. This has caused the stitching to stretch from riding around with a full cart. Currently, I have mounted an old seat post rack on the inside to alleviate some of the pressure on the floor of the forward compartment. Water has a tendency to collect in the front compartment also (Only what was in my 5-gallon bucket stayed dry). I was thinking of sewing in some type of drain plug. Pros: The sides are lined with mesh compartments, great for quick access items and the little things. The width and length of the cart is perfect to fit a crazy creek style camp chair (never leave home without it). Once you figure out the best weight balance the cart glides along behind the bike though hills will remind you that it is there. Having the weight off your bike adds to stability while riding and mounting/dismounting, in my opinion. The stock tires are nice also. I have rode the cart over 600 miles and have not had a flat (knock on wood). You can fit everything you need for a week long camping trip in the cart (If you pack as though you are going on a backpacking trip). As stated before, the five gallon bucket is great for storing food and any electronics. Conclusion: I really like the Nomad cart. It is a great alternative to panniers and bags. It cruised behind me on the C&O Towpath and the Great Allegheny Passage with little extra effort. It allows you to carry larger items than could fit into bags (camp chair). Next I'm thinking of using it to ride around Ohio, following the Buckeye trail when possible.

Burley Nomad is awesome!!

By JimG

from Chicago, IL, United States

About Me

I bought the Burley Nomad about a month ago. It is a high quality product all around, rides so smooth I had to check to see if it was still attached! It holds everything I hoped. I use it for day trips to the beach and carry a grill, cooler, and other items. Highly recommended!

Light and easy to use cargo trailer

By SalmisaarenSanni

from Undisclosed

About Me

I'm mostly happy with the product. It is easy to use, light and rolls well. However, I'm worried about the quality of the canvas material. We already have two wholes in the sides since the wheels have touched the sides when cycling. The canvas seems to be too thin both in sides and at the bottom. I'd like to have ticker canvas especially at the bottom. If you have some heavier, sharp goods they can easily make holes to the canvas.

The Burley Nomad! Approved by The Frod!

About Me

16. juni 2017 14:09 I bought my first Nomad back in the early 2000s and over the years it has taken me on numerous tours around Europe. From the Atlantic coast to the Rockies, my Burley Nomad was my trusted companion. It withstood the trials and tribulations of gravel roads, dirt tracks, whatever. The Nomad never flinched! It has been packed and filled to the brim. Weight has never been an issue. The Burley Nomad simply marched on! Last year I decided to upgrade to the most recent version and I wasn't disappointed. Whilst my old friend relaxed in the garage licking her wounds, my new companion and I set out on a new adventure throughout Europe. The famous bike tourer, The Frod, ditched his cycle bags and BOB trailer and got himself a brand new Nomad and came along. He hasn't looked back since! The Burley Nomad folks, it doesn't get better than this! See enclosed bike touring video "Where Frods Dare!" and you'll see what I mean.

Great Trailer

By Craig

from Virginia Beach

About Me

Have owned this trailer for over a year. Have used it for grocery runs and have had no problem hauling twenty pounds of provisions home. On our recent 200-plus mile C&O trail trip, we found the trailer indestructible. We suffered five flats in five days on our bikes but the trailer came through the experience unscathed. Great product, highly recommended.

Love It!

By Todd

from Pompano Beach,FL

About Me

I mostly use it to carry things to the local airport to work on my plane or go flying. I tow it behind my recumbent Trike and don't even know it's there unless I see it in the rear view mirror. The cover is great also. The two things that I have needed to change are the flag holder and the interior base. The flag base just sticks into a slot in the fabric. The flag is tall and with any cross wind at all it can bend way over into the opposing bike lane and could also whack pedestrians without you even knowing it. I just use the 1/2 length and that is fine as I have a tall flag on the Trike. The bottom of the carrier is just fabric material and I would worry about heavy items tearing a seam and falling through. I just made a cardboard cutout out of the box it arrived in and inserted it in the bottom to provide more support.
